EFT & EMDR: A Case Study
Following the tragic events of the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center, Dr. Nicosia used Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and a modified form of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to successfully treat a survivor of the Twin Towers collapse suffering from prolonged PTSD complicated by dissociated memories. Years later, Dr. Nicosia and colleagues Lorna Minewiser and Amanda Freger evaluated EMDR and EFT’s effectiveness in treating PTSD in single-subject case study design.
